David Belenguerjoined Getafe in the season 2003/04, when he was promoted to the first division. He played six seasons as a azulon in the top flight. He was a starter in the Final of Copa del Rey in 2007 against Sevilla. At the end of 2009/10 he left the club after the qualification for the Europa League was confirmed with a 3-0 win in the Calderón against Atlético de Madrid.
